Our loving parents, Dina and Rey, left for the Philippines in November for their yearly visit and were due to come home in April. Due to COVID, their flight got cancelled and we were able to get them a flight to come home July 11th. However, the week of July 11th my mom became ill thinking she had a cold/ flu. A couple nights before she felt horrible and requested to be taken to the hospital (which takes a lot for our tough mom) and they found that she has pneumonia. To take further health precautions, they decided to test my mom for COVID and she is positive. Dialysis treatments are being done daily to help my mom fight a blood infection. Luckily, her health insurance will help cover some cost but the expenses are multiplying quite quickly. The hospital refuses to deal with the insurance and we will eventually get reimbursed for some of the costs, but we are quite scared of the amounts of money we are having to send almost daily. This fund will help my parents and us sisters with the costs that will not be covered and whatever extra costs it will take to get them home, which may include my sister flying out there to get them.
