Mirna is a newlywed and a devoted mother, with both her husband and daughter being naturalized citizens. Mirna is a custodian at a local school and a treasured member of the Stafford County Schools community. For the past 10 years, she has worked tirelessly, paid her taxes, and followed steps toward citizenship. She has always respected and adhered to legal authority, which is why, when she received a text instructing her to report to an ICE facility, she complied without hesitation. Tragically, Mirna was promptly detained and held in a Virginia facility before being moved to Texas. She has only been able to have a few brief phone calls with her daughter since her detention. She has described the horrible conditions of the facilities and the treatment of herself and others. No human, especially one as kind, empathetic, and law-abiding as Mirna deserves to be treated the way these detainees have been treated. Now, Mirna faces deportation, and her family is left heartbroken and uncertain about the future. Her community is rallying around her, determined to help her stay with her loved ones and return home where she belongs. We are asking for your support to help cover the legal fees needed to fight for Mirna’s right to remain with her family. Every donation will go directly toward supporting her daughter’s efforts to bring Mirna home, to cover legal expenses, and the burdens of the life she has worked to create for her daughter and husband here in Virginia. Your generosity and compassion can make all the difference in reuniting a family and keeping a valued member of our community where she is needed most. HOME. Please join us in bringing Mirna home.
