Bringing Millie (Amelia) home
While visiting her son and family in North Carolina Millie suffered a stroke. She has fought hard everyday to get better. Anyone that knows her, knows she is a fighter. It is time for her to be released from the hospital and come back to New Jersey for rehab.
Now here is the reason for this fundraiser. Her insurance won’t pay for her medical flight back because they feel it’s not an emergency. They told to her do rehab in Rocky Mount, NC, which would be out of network and at her own cost and it’s 146 miles from her son and no other family nearby.
Anyone who knows Millie (Amelia) knows how hard she worked as a home health aide for Samaritan Hospice going above and beyond for her patients and their families. Receiving high praise from so many of them. Also high awards for service from Samaritan. This being just one.
We are asking for any amount to help bring her home to continue her rehab nearby (in network) with her husband Tom and other family nearby. The amount to be raised will help cover transportation from the hospital to the flight, the flight which requires a nurse and EMT and transportation from the airport to the rehab facility.
Millie (Amelia) has put herself out for so many it’s time to give her a hand. She has been the backbone to her family, her siblings Floyd Harper, Bert Harper, Pattie Procyk and John Harper. Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren. Her dear friends Jayne Boone and Marge Colby.
Thank you in advance for your help and know it will be greatly appreciated.
