On February 23, 2020 we got a call that my cousin Manuel had passed. We grew up together and we were more like brother and sister. He saw me as his little sister and we were inseparable. We were separated when he got incarcerated a few years back but he was supposed to be coming home next year. 

At this moment we have many unanswered questions and this is truly heartbreaking because he was so happy knowing he would be released next year and could finally be reunited with his son. Now we don’t know how to even tell him his dad won’t be coming back home.

We were not prepared for this at all and we don’t know where to even begin. 

His mom is devastated and her health isn’t the best. She was recently diagnosed with cancer again so all this has been a lot for her and the rest of the family. 

All we want is to be able to bring him back home and provide him with a proper burial.
