Bringing Mama Nancy home

Donation protected

Nancy Watts was my mom, my only mom, we only have one mom in our life. So to most of us, they're always the best, but I assure you that my mom was truly the best mom in the history of moms. She was my rock, my foundation, and when the storms of life blew the hardest she kept me anchored. She never gave up on me and always believed in me. She proved to me through her own life and actions, that love, true unconditional love... Well, to quote John Lennon, "Love, love, love. All you need is love."

On March 9, 2019, she unexpectedly passed away after taking an ambulance to the hospital for chest pains. I knew she suffered from a physically weak heart, although her capacity for love far exceeded what her 4' 9" frame could contain. Her passing came as a shock to me and so many around her.

For those of you that knew my mother, I appreciate your kind words of comfort in these bleak and heart breaking times. If you have memories that you would care to share, please share your memory with a comment on this campaign. Some of my best memories with my mom were trips to Boston to see the Red Sox play,  summers on Cape Cod enjoying fishing, hanging out at the beach, and seeing her with her many grandchildren.

One of the life lessons my mother taught me was to plan ahead, and she implemented this in her life. She has a burial plot fully paid off in Paxton, MA. For the past 3 years she has lived with her roommate and friend, Maggie and her daughter, Rowan, in VA. As her son, I am tasked with collecting her belongings and transporting her remains to Millbury, MA, where her services will be held. The travel expenses are more than I expected, as well as the time off from work. My girlfriend, 3 month old baby (George), and I will be flying from Cincinnati, OH to Virginia to collect my mother's ashes, then driving her to Millbury, MA. After the services are concluded, we will be flying back to Cincinnati.

Clearly, my mom was better at planning ahead than I am, and I do not have the funds to make this trip. Any bit of help would be greatly appreciated so I can take my mom back home for her final road trip.

If there are any funds leftover they will be donated to the American Heart Association.

a note she had saved for years, just found out about it.
