I am a mental health professional, educator, advocate, and lifelong seeker of magic. I write books about healing, justice, and the connections that hold us together, and I write them from my life: clinical rooms, family history, a near-death experience in 1996, and two grandmothers who taught me that anything is possible.
When this campaign began, getting these books into print felt out of reach. It isn't anymore. Twenty-four of my books are published, and twenty-one more are on their way, including First, Do No Harm, released today, and my novel Todo Lo Cree, Todo Lo Soporta, arriving December 1, 2026.
So this campaign has a new job. Ten thousand dollars sounds like a lot until you price what it takes to publish and market even one book properly: editing, covers, print setup so bookstores and libraries can carry them, and the marketing that lets the right readers find them. This fund is the engine for the whole catalog, every book published well instead of barely.
In Be a Man: The Violence Society Ignores, I wrote about the crisis our culture refuses to see, domestic violence against men, with resource guides for survivors and families. Those resources only help if people can find the book. That is what your support does. It puts healing within reach of the people it was written for.
Thank you for helping bring magic and healing to print, for real this time.
