I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of the McLaughlin family following the heartbreaking and unexpected passing of their beloved son and brother, John, in a motorcycle accident while he was in Thailand.

John meant so much to the people who knew and loved him, and his family is now facing the unimaginable pain of grieving such a sudden loss. Their immediate priority is bringing John home to Boston so that he can be laid to rest surrounded by his family, friends, and loved ones.

This heartbreaking loss comes after the McLaughlin family endured the devastating loss of their daughter and sister, Tara, in 2018, following her difficult battle with Glioblastoma. Now, as they face the unimaginable loss of John, their father, Jim, is also battling cancer, undergoing active treatment, and no longer able to work.

This great family has been through so much, and the burden of so much great loss is already more than anyone should have to carry. The costs of bringing John home from Thailand and making the necessary arrangements are significant. There is so little we can do to make a loss like this easier, but helping bring John home is something we can do for this wonderful family. Any support is deeply appreciated.
