I'm raising money to bring Jazz programming to my community through a series of special events and fun filled programs. Some of the highlights include Jazz On The Creek, BeBoppin And Books, The Art of Jazz, Soul on Sundays, and A Taste Of Swing. My goal is to present FREE or affordable programming while ensuring that talented musicians are paid fairly for their work. These programs are unique because they introduce children to Jazz, create welcoming spaces for seniors to listen and dance to traditional Jazz, and offer people of all ages and backgrounds the chance to enjoy music in safe and vibrant settings.
What makes my project special is the focus on community, the presentation and preservation of traditional Jazz, as well as educating people about the roots of this incredible music. I strive to make every event fun, relaxed, and accessible by removing barriers like high ticket prices, drink minimums, and expensive parking fees. I started this project to make music and culture more accessible to everyone. After realizing that many people want to enjoy art and Jazz but simply can't afford it. A night out for two can easily become too expensive, and I want to change that.
All of the funds raised will go directly toward paying musicians and covering essential operating costs such as sound equipment and advertising flyers. In the past, I produced a community Jazz event for nine years. It was a wonderful success. Now, with GoFundMe, I hope to keep the tradition and cover programming costs from now until late fall.
Your support will help keep Jazz alive, bring to communities while being accessible for everyone. Please consider contributing to help us continue this important work and bring music, culture, and joy to our community, friends and neighbors.
Thank you for your support!! Keep Jazz accessible.
Denise
