Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-hearted Supporters,

My name is Rotha and I am reaching out with a heavy heart as I face one of the most painful moments a mother can endure. My beautiful daughter, Janai, has gained her wings far sooner than any of us could have imagined. While I struggle to process this loss, I am doing everything I can to honor her life with the dignity, love, and peace she deserves.

Janai was gentle, loving, and full of quiet light. Some knew her as “Sweet n Shy Janai,” because it captured her spirit so perfectly. She was soft-spoken but warm, observant but full of depth, and she touched hearts everywhere she went. Anyone who had the blessing of knowing her—whether for years or only for a moment—felt her kindness.

At this time, Janai is in Arizona. My family and I are trying to bring her home to New York, where she can be laid to rest beside her grandmother, the woman who helped shape the love and gentleness that Janai carried throughout her life. Bringing her home is not just a wish—it is the final act of love I can offer my baby girl.

Unfortunately, the costs of transportation and funeral arrangements are more than I can manage alone. I humbly come forward, asking for support from those who loved Janai, those who knew our family, and anyone moved by her story. Every contribution—no matter the size—helps us take one step closer to giving her the resting place she deserves.
