We recently made a big life change and moved our family to the Mexican Carribean , hopeful for a fresh start. But within the very first week of arriving, things took a drastic change.
Our son Indie became extremely sick. He had a fever of 104°, vomiting blood, couldn’t stand or walk and was screaming in pain. It was far more serious than what we expected. What followed were multiple doctor visits, emergency care, and a hospital stay that had us scared for his life. Indie had a terrible bacterial infection that was taking over his stomach and body. It was frightening, exhausting, and something no parent is ever truly prepared for.
We did everything we could to get him help, but the medical expenses quickly added up without having an established insurance yet. We had costs we never planned for and weren’t financially ready to face so soon after a major move.
Weeks later , our son is still struggling with lingering issues . He’s continuing to have health issues, and doctors have raised concerns that it could be an autoimmune condition. We don’t have clear answers yet, but we do know he needs more specialized care and thorough testing.
After a lot of difficult conversations and heavy hearts, we’ve realized we need to return to the United States so he can receive the level of care he needs. This decision hasn’t been easy. It’s incredibly humbling—and honestly, a hard reality to come back so soon after starting this new chapter. But nothing matters more than Indie’s health and well-being.
We’re asking for help to make this possible. The funds will go toward:
Travel back to the United States
Ongoing medical care and specialist visits
Testing and possible treatments
This isn’t where we thought we would be, but we are doing everything we can to take care of our son and get him the help he needs.
If you’re able to donate or even just share our story, it would mean more to us than we can put into words. Thank you for your compassion, support, and for helping us put our child first during this transition.
