Dans Hotdog Donation

My name is Dan Collins. I'm 45, married, and have 3 sons. My sobriety date is Aug 18th, 2013; that gives me 11 years of sobriety. I give back by working with other people in the recovery community by offering coping skills and, of course, the Gospel.

In the summer of 2023, around June, I started doing prayer walks in my community, Lancaster, Ohio, in an area where I noticed a lot of homeless and drug activity. Twenty years of using will make you an expert in seeing these things. My heart began to break for these people, and I began asking the Lord what I could do to help. Well, He answered me and said, "Dan, I want you to feed these people." Then, He gave me a vision that I would receive a hotdog cart and walk the area where I noticed this activity.

I sat on this idea for some time. Then one day in my truck, I was listening to a podcast about people struggling with addiction, and the Holy Spirit poured in and asked me a direct question. He said, "Why aren't you doing what I asked you to do?" So I said, "OK, Lord, I'm listening." The next day, I met with a Pastor/Mentor, and he asked me about what was going on in my life. I told him the story, and he paused for some time, looked up at me, and said, "Dan, do you want a hotdog cart?" He had been offered one shortly before our meeting but had refused. Another pastor had offered it to him and had placed it under a tarp around the same time I had the vision. But God had other plans, and I was told He was preparing the man for such a time. It is wild how this has all happened and has been amazing to be a part of it.

I just want to be a vessel to accomplish His work. I will build relationships with the community and spread the Gospel to places that may never be reached otherwise. I want to bring hope and show that change is possible and we do recover. If you would like to sow into this ministry, please join me, most importantly by prayer or funds to keep it moving.
