An Urgent Plea for Help After Life-Altering Events
Aloha, and thank you for taking the time to read my story.
On December 12, 2024, my life changed in an instant when I suffered a hemorrhagic stroke with a brain bleed on my brainstem. This devastating event has profoundly impacted every aspect of my life. I've lost the ability to walk and write, my vision is severely impaired, and my speech is difficult to understand. I'm a father of four, including a set of twins, and I have one granddaughter. My partner saved my life by calling an ambulance—a critical reminder to regularly check your blood pressure.
I've called Oahu, Hawaii, home for the past five years. However, my stroke has left me unable to work or pay my bills. My partner has been an incredible support, helping me navigate daily life, but her ability to work has been significantly reduced due to her caregiving responsibilities.
A Second Setback: Hit and Run Accident
As if things weren't challenging enough, on May 6, 2025, my partner and I were victims of a hit-and-run car accident. Her vehicle was totaled, and she's now dealing with shoulder pain, making her unable to work. I have also now have shaking in my left hand, frequent headaches and have a hard time sleeping, due to reliving the accident everytime I try to sleep. This accident has made our situation even more urgent.
My Urgent Need to Return Home
My most pressing need is to move back to the mainland to be closer to my family, who can provide the extensive support and care I now require. With no vehicle and my partner's limitations, this move has become critically urgent.
How You Can Help
We are asking for any assistance you can offer to make this move possible and to help us rebuild our lives. Every contribution, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated and will make a significant difference.
Mahalo for your generosity and support during this incredibly challenging time.
