There are so many words to describe who Gracie was in our life. She was full of fire, courage, and love. She was a big member of our family, as she was our little sister, our daughter, our baby.
It’s been six days since Gracie’s passing. Not a day goes by where we don’t miss her presence. She passed away on March 17th, due to her heart enlarging. Before three hours of her passing, we took her to the veterinary because she was experiencing labored breathing. The vets told us she would be okay, they charged us about $822, discharged us, and about an hour later Gracie went to her corner of the patio and collapsed. We were so confused, traumatize, and hurt. The vets clearly missed something despite charging us hundreds of dollars for her treatment and some new prescribed medication for Gracie. Immediately, we rush back to the vet, and were able to stabilize her condition.
We didn’t know what to do, an hour ago the Vet said she would be okay, that we needed to avoid putting stress on her heart. But her labored breathing never went away. She was dying right in front of us, and the Vet didn’t do anything about it. They charged us $800 and called it a day. But as soon as we took her back, they stabilized her breathing, the Vet asked us what happened as if we were the problem. We just told them what they told us to do. It was traumatizing, heartbreaking and a deceiving experience for us all.
Despite her being stable, it was too late. We decided it was time. It was time to let her go. And so, we did. Before euthanizing our sweet girl, they charged again to cremate Gracie and get some paw prints. And so, we are raising $1200 to help pay for these medical expenses and her cremation that our family could barely afford. As much as we wanted to bring her home alive, we wanted to at least bring her soul and spirit back home.
We were gifted 15 years with her and she fought hard till the very end. We can’t thank you guys enough for supporting her about a year ago for her mass surgery. With that surgery she got to live another year full of love, happiness, and comfort. But now, we seek help to pay for these medical bills and see our Gracie’s soul and spirit come home in one piece.
