Bringing Global Baptists Together

Don protégé
The Network of Global Baptists
Prayerful. Progressive. Prophetic.

The Network of Global Baptists acts according to our historic Baptist principles of:
- The authority of scripture; in which we are witness to the arc of God’s restorative love for humanity, and the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ,
- Religious freedom, and local church autonomy,
- Justice and hope for the marginalised, drawing on our legacy of spiritual leaders who have championed radical inclusion.

We aspire to be a global network of individuals, churches, associations, and unions, that:
- Prayerfully support one another, and pray for the world around us,
- Think and act progressively, with a heart and focus for those on the margins,
- Speak prophetically to our Baptist siblings, where we differ, and into the world.

Through collaboration, we can:
- Support local Baptist churches with shared resources and learning opportunities, and opportunities for fellowship and prayer,
- Offer opportunities to theological formation, and accredited Baptist ministry, particularly for those whose experience of marginalisation prevents them from that recognition locally,
- Walk alongside our Baptist siblings, demonstrating a commitment to dialogue and journeying together, especially in difference.

As interest grows in the network, there is now a need to finance some of our efforts. Whilst much of the work is coordinated by Luke from OneBodyOneFaith, there are costs which ought to be financed separately.

In July, the Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America/Bautistas por la Paz is hosting their annual Peace Camp. This is an exciting opportunity to broaden the reach of the global network in North America, and engage with Baptists who identify as inclusive, progressive, and intercultural.

Projected costs for this trip are around £1,500 (GBP) / $1,900 (USD) / $2,600 (CAD) – to include flights, internal travel costs, food etc. Whilst we remain an informal group at this stage, individuals who have committed to joining Luke in stewarding these efforts will be consulted on the spending of the funds raised, as is good accountability practice.

Please consider donating to this expression of our global network, so that we may continue to discern ways that offer a different narrative of what it is to be part of the Baptist tradition today.
