Our family is mourning the loss of our beloved uncle, Edward Louis Stevenson III. This loss is especially heartbreaking for our grandmother, a widow who is now facing the pain of burying her firstborn son.
Edward passed away in a nursing home facility in Missouri, far from his home and family in Illinois, where he was born and where his loved ones are waiting to lay him to rest. Because of this, our family is facing unexpected funeral, embalming, and out-of-state transportation costs to bring him home for burial.
Bringing Edward back to Illinois is deeply important so that his mother, his sons, siblings, and extended family can say a proper goodbye and honor his life with dignity.
Edward was a fighter. He survived multiple strokes, an aneurysm, a heart attack, time on a ventilator, and severe infections. Time and time again, he defied the odds and continued to push forward. His life showed us the power of resilience and the importance of never giving up on family.
Any donation, no matter the amount, will help ease this burden and allow us to bring Edward home. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page.
Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
