Bringing Dianne Rodger Home

Hello, I am CJ Rodger, Dianne Rodger’s daughter and I am raising funds to bring my mother back to our hometown of Marshfield, MA to have her funeral services. It was my mother’s last wishes to be back home by the beach where we both called home for so many years and still call home to this day. We have so many friends, family, and the most supportive community in Marshfield, MA that it only seemed right to let others pay their respects to her as I know she meant so much to so many.

These funds will help pay for her cremation in New York, funeral services to be held at MacDonald’s Funeral home Nov 19th at 10am, obituary in the Patriot Ledger, and her final resting place will be at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree, MA with her name engraved on our family’s headstone where her Father, Alexander G. Rodger Jr. and Mother, Catherine A. Rodger are both buried.

I hope this is a way that everyone can come together, pay their respects, and share their stories of my mother with me, and my family in our time of grieving.

If anyone knew my mother Dianne Rodger, they would know she’s the kind of person to always put everyone else first above herself. She was heavily involved with the Marshfield community for over 25 years, she was a past member of the Marshfield Housing Authority, as well as a former Board of Director & Executive Officer of the Marshfield Boys & Girls Club.

She was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer January of 2018 and a few years later was diagnosed with Uterine cancer. She never gave up and had such an unparalleled determination to not let her sickness get the best of her and she fought for 5 long years. I’m convinced she was able to battle for so long because of the bond we both share, along with the incredible support we’ve received over years from friends, family, and our community.

People knew my mother through me because she is and continues to be my driving force in life. Being able to take care of her was my pride and joy in life. I know that my mother’s face would light up whenever she would talk about me to anyone, including strangers and I would do the same.

Dianne Rodger has impacted more people than she knew and continues to impact with her captivating story of adopting her daughter CJ Rodger from China back in 1996. Her decision of wanting to be a mother started new beginnings for many of her friends to adopt and become mother’s themselves. She is not just my mother, but I share her with countless family members, friends, and colleagues.

Thank you all for being a part of Dianne’s life, and I hope to continue to honor her in every way possible and give her the most grand stage she deserves.
