Help Bring DestinyFaye Home: Recovering from Neglect
The Situation
My daughter, DestinyFaye, is a vibrant soul who lives with spastic quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. Recently, she moved to Ohio to live with a friend who had promised to provide the daily care and support she requires. Tragically, that trust was broken.
In December, the neglect became so severe that DestinyFaye had to advocate for her own life and call an ambulance. She was hospitalized with life-threatening infections from untreated bedsores, requiring multiple blood transfusions and surgery. After months in the hospital, she is currently in a nursing facility awaiting medical clearance to travel.
The Goal
DestinyFaye has no other family or support in Ohio. She needs to come home to Grand Junction, where she can be surrounded by family who loves her and will provide the dedicated, 24/7 care she deserves.
The Obstacle
As her mother, I am doing everything I can to keep our home ready for her, but I am currently struggling to meet basic needs like groceries and rent. My current vehicle is non-functional and, even if repaired, is not equipped to transport a person who is wheelchair-bound and recovering from major surgery.
How Your Donation Helps
We are raising funds to secure accessible medical transport to bring DestinyFaye from Ohio back home to Colorado. This move requires specialized transportation that can accommodate her wheelchair and medical needs during the long journey.
Funds will go directly toward:
Specialized non-emergency medical transport (NEMT)
Travel expenses for the transition
Initial medical supplies needed for her care upon arrival
Any amount, no matter how small, brings us one mile closer to getting DestinyFaye back where she belongs—safe, loved, and properly cared for. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing our story.
Thank you for helping me bring my daughter home.
