My name is Deborah Silverblatt, and I am in a sticky wicket! Let me tell you my story.

So, I have lived most of my life in California until one day my son, who lives in Idaho, calls me and says, "We want you to move up to Idaho or Washington because we are going to have a baby and we want you to be closer." Because my love for my son and daughter is so strong, I agreed and packed up most of my stuff and moved to Spokane, Washington. Three and a half years later and two grandchildren to boot, my son comes to me and says, "I am going to join the military, and we will be moving around, so you should probably move back to California to be near your friends."

As he is telling me this, my current landlord presented me with a notice to vacate by June 30, 2026, because she has a friend with two children who needs a place to live! I have already packed most of my belongings and put them in a storage unit. Now, I have to find a mover because I do not have the courage or the skill to drive a truck with my dog Mia and my car towed behind it.

I also need to find a place to live until I can get on my feet. I have already begun applying for jobs in Sonoma County as well as looking for a place to live.

I am planning my move for the end of May because I do not want to pay my landlord $1000 for June rent. I would rather keep that money and apply it to my move.
