We remember getting off work and driving past Highway 140 at like 1 in the morning. We passed a sign that said Canton 12 and it reminded us of an idea for a film ending we had. We wanted 99% of the film to be handheld. Handheld, to us, feels raw, natural, gritty, unpolished, and deeply rooted in authenticity. Eventually we started piecing story concepts together. We wanted the protagonist to have just escaped from a mental institution, meet new people, and reconnect with familiar ones. We wanted to showcase Canton as it actually appears to us — while telling a story that anyone anywhere can feel. These ideas became Canton 12 and we are raising funds for the production of this film,
