Our family is reaching out for support during an incredibly challenging time.

In July 2025, Angela underwent her ninth brain surgery due to a cavernous malformation attached to her brain stem. Though she has been dealing with this since 2011 and has had to regain her memory, speech, and mobility on multiple occasions, this most recent surgery was by far the most invasive. It was to remove the cavernous malformation for good.

In 2025 her brain was hemorrhaging and waiting was not an option, although the surgery was successful, the aftermath has been devastating. Angela remained in a coma for two months, an incredibly frightening and heartbreaking time for our entire family and for everyone who loves her. When she slowly began to wake up, progress came in the smallest but most meaningful ways — squeezing our hands, mouthing “I love you,” and showing us she was still there. Every small step forward has been a hard-earned milestone.

She is currently half spoon-fed, half fed through a g-tube, very limited mobility, struggles to keep her eyes open, and has slurred speech.

She is living in a nursing facility where she receives speech therapy (ST), and occupational therapy (OT). Unfortunately, this coverage is temporary. Physical therapy(PT) is no longer a service she receives due to the limitations of her insurance coverage leaving us facing an impossible decision during this critical window for recovery:

• Keep her in a facility without therapies, or

• Bring her home and provide full-time in-home care, along with specialized physical and speech therapy

The facility she is currently in just stopped giving her PT this week. Therapy is the only option Angela has to get better. Without consistent PT, ST, and OT, her ability to heal, regain independence, and communicate will be severely limited. Bringing her home allows her to continue this essential care while also being surrounded by her family and pets (Moo Moo & LeeRoy), which plays a powerful role in her motivation and healing. However, the cost of full-time care and therapy is far beyond what our family can manage on our own.

Angela just turned 50 years old, and she deserves the opportunity to live the fullest life possible after everything she has endured. Any donation, share, or message of support truly means more to us than words can express. As shown by her past recoveries, she is a fighter and will continue to do so!

Adjustable bed frame (one-time cost): $1,700

Adjustable Wheelchair(one-time cost): $1,200

Full-time home health aide: $600 per week

Physical therapy: $200 per week
