Dear friends, family, and generous supporters,

I am incredibly excited to share this GoFundMe page with you because it brings us one step closer to a dream that Andrés and I have been cherishing for a while. My boyfriend Andrés and I met as ski instructors at a ski resort in Japan. From the very first day, it felt like I had met my soulmate. Our bond quickly grew stronger, and despite the distance between us, our love has only deepened.

Unfortunately, Andrés lives in Los Andes, Chile, and I (Marth) live in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and although we miss each other terribly, obtaining a residence permit for the Netherlands is a long and complicated process. Andrés works hard as a ski instructor in Chile, and I am busy trying to secure a job with a year-long contract to make the visa possible. While we’re working towards reuniting, the visa process is long and complicated, which means we won’t be able to see each other for months.

We need your help to make this reunion happen before the visa process begins. Once Andrés applies for his visa, he won’t be allowed to visit the Netherlands at all for about six months. During that time, we’ll only be able to meet outside of the Netherlands. Right now, this is our only opportunity for him to briefly see me and experience Amsterdam.

What the funds will help with is Andrés’ trip to Amsterdam before the visa application starts. The trip from Chile to the Netherlands is expensive, and without your support, this reunion won’t be possible.

Once we start the visa process, Andrés will return to Chile to finalize the paperwork and then, hopefully, come to Europe to work. This would allow us to visit each other more easily. The other challenge is that I need to secure a job with a year-long contract in the Netherlands since that is one of the requirements. All of these steps make it difficult for us to save for his trip on our own.

Your contributions will help us reunite for a short but precious time before the long waiting process begins.

We zijn enorm enthousiast om deze GoFundMe-pagina met jullie te delen, omdat het ons een stap dichter bij een droom brengt die Andres en ik al een tijdje koesteren. Mijn vriend Andrés en ik hebben elkaar ontmoet als skileraren op een skiresort in Japan. Vanaf de eerste dag voelde het alsof ik mijn soulmate had ontmoet. Andrés werkt hard als skileraar in Chili, en ik ben druk bezig met het vinden van een baan met een jaarcontract om het visum mogelijk te maken. Terwijl we toewerken naar onze hereniging, betekent dit dat we elkaar maandenlang niet zullen kunnen zien.

We hebben jullie hulp nodig om deze hereniging te laten plaatsvinden vóórdat het visumproces begint. Zodra Andrés zijn visum aanvraagt, mag hij Nederland tijdens de aanvraag (zes maanden lang) niet bezoeken. In die periode kunnen we elkaar alleen buiten Nederland ontmoeten. Dit is nu onze enige kans voor hem om mij kort te zien en Amsterdam te ervaren.

De opgehaalde fondsen zullen Andrés' reis naar Amsterdam mogelijk maken, voordat het visumproces begint. De reis van Chili naar Nederland is kostbaar, en zonder jullie steun zal deze hereniging niet mogelijk zijn.

Zodra we het visumproces starten, zal Andrés terugkeren naar Chili om de papierwerk af te ronden en kan hij hopelijk naar Europa komen om te werken. Dit zou het voor ons makkelijker en goedkoper maken om elkaar te zien. Een andere uitdaging is dat ik een baan met een jaarcontract moet vinden in Nederland, omdat dat een van de vereisten is. Al deze stappen maken het voor ons moeilijk om zelf voor zijn reis te sparen.
