Dear Family, Friends, and Kind Hearts,
It is with profound sadness and shattered hearts that we share the devastating news of the sudden passing of our beloved friend Adrian Maldonado. On their way back home to Carlsbad, New Mexico from Chihuahua, Mexico, our family was involved in a tragic car accident.
While we are eternally grateful that my mother (Maria Maldonado), my sisters (Alejandra Cano which is currently pregnant and Adriana Maldonado), and my little niece (Aitana Maldonado) survived and are currently stable in a hospital in Chihuahua, my father tragically did not survive. He was the only one in the vehicle who passed away.
Adrian was the true anchor of our family—a deeply loving husband, father, and grandfather. To know him was to love him. He carried a warmth and a vibrant spirit that touched everyone he met, leaving a trail of laughter, kindness, and deep friendships wherever his journey took him. Having spent many years working in the trucking industry, he was a well-known, highly respected, and deeply loved face on the road. He had so many friends in life because of his big smile and generous heart.
My father was the sole provider for my mom and sister adriana His sudden absence has not only left an unfillable emotional void but also an incredibly heavy financial burden on our family during an already agonizing time. We are reaching out to our community, our friends, the trucking brotherhood, and anyone moved by our story to help us navigate this nightmare.
The funds raised will be used directly for:
Bringing Him Home: Covering the complex legal and transportation costs required to repatriate my father's body from Mexico back to Carlsbad.
Funeral and Memorial Expenses: Giving a beautiful, honorable final farewell to a man who was so deeply loved by all.
Hospital and Medical Bills: Assisting with the ongoing medical treatment, care, and recovery expenses for my mother, sisters, and niece who remain hospitalized in Chihuahua.
Immediate Family Expenses: Helping my mother stay afloat with living expenses now that our primary provider is gone.
No donation is too small, and anything you can contribute helps more than words can express. If you are unable to contribute financially, we completely understand and humbly ask that you please share this link with others and keep my mother, sisters, and niece in your prayers as they continue to heal in the hospital.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your overwhelming love, kindness, and continuous support during the darkest hour of our lives.
With love and gratitude,
The Maldonado and Cano Family
