BRING FRAN HOME
Donation protected
PLEASE help us to raise enough funds to bring Fran Russell home! She recently lost her leg due to vascular disease and diabetes. Fran went into the hospital for a routine procedure and developed an allergic-like reaction to the medication. Instead of it working to break up blood clots, it started to form them with no way of knowing untiI it was too late resulting in the amputation of her dominant leg mid thigh.
Her return home is SO important because the memories of her lifelong husband and beautiful daughter, both whom she lost to cancers just years apart, live there. Fran deserves to heal her body & her heart in the place where she finds the most comfort and I know that together with the friends and family around us, WE can make this happen!
My Godmother Fran is one of the most special people I am blessed to have in my life. She truly is an amzaing woman and I know many who know her feel the same. She is the wife of a Veteran, Ed Russell, and a member of the Woman's Auxiliary League at AmVets in Fall River where she is known for baking wonderful cakes and helping out in the kitchen as "Cupcake Franny". She is a very giving, family oriented woman with an enormous heart, and a loving Mother to three beautiful daughters ("sisters" to me), Kelly, Kimmy, and Jocelyn. She is loving, kindhearted, and her sense of humor can't be topped! Fran is the one person you know you can count on for a hug or good advice or the shoulder you need to lean on no matter what life has dealt you. She is the rock to so many who are lucky enough to call her friend.
Fran has worked in the medical field for years and was planning on retiring next month to enjoy life with her daughters and sons-in-law, but instead, she will now need to recover, learn to walk, have many modifications done at home to continue to be as independent as possible.
This GoFundMe will help to make the changes needed in her home. A shower needs to be put in on the first floor of her home and a ramp will need to be built to allow her access in & out of her home. Please, if you can, donate to make this possible. Any amount would be a blessing to her and those of us who love her and want to see her live as close to "normal" as possible. Fran would be the first person to lead this charge for anyone else who needed it. Thank you for reading Fran's story - God Bless <3
