Hello I am CJ’s mother LeeAnne Stevens. We are a native family in Canada facing challenges to bring him home. The hospital must discharge him since his health is now stable. I have been forced to apply for his admittance to a LongTermCare facility which we do not agree to at this point in our lives. We want to bring him home however it requires modifications as well as renovations. We live on the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation in southwestern Ontario Canada. We’ve waited since March 2026 for the process to begin. We haven’t acquired even a quote or estimate as of yet. We need to renovate a bedroom for him on the main floor. We require a new deck with a ramp. Total renovations/modification for the bathroom. All for wheelchair accessibility. If a wish could be granted I would advocate for a total renovation since my grandparents built the house in 1991. We need a washer and dryer hook up for laundry as well. The closest laundromat is 20 kms away. We will also need to pick up his hospital bed in Toronto from the apt we were renting since his initial discharge from Toronto hospital in 2023. I may have to rent a truck for that. We are a family of water walkers and care for sacred sled dogs as well. I have no income but my son receives the Ontario Disabilty Support Program which really isn’t much to live on. So any donation amount you’re willing to contribute will be so much appreciated.
