Yuki Okumura came to the United States for a short internship in Los Angeles while studying at Musashi University. Yuki was studying English with the dream of becoming a cabin attendant for an international airline, and this internship was an important step toward that future. Yuki loved K-pop, worked hard, and came to LA full of hope and determination.

On August 16th, everything changed in an instant. She was walking across the street on the green light and struck by a bus, and was rushed to Los Angeles General Hospital with severe traumatic injuries.

Yuki underwent multiple surgeries and fought hard for life. Despite the extraordinary efforts of her medical/surgical team, a blood clot traveled to her brain and caused a massive stroke. Even after emergency brain surgery, Yuki sadly passed away on September 9, 2026 at 18:33.

Hers was a young life still full of dreams yet to come true.

We hope to bring Yuki home to Japan — the place where she was born and raised, and where she built so many cherished memories — so that her family and the people who loved her can say a proper, heartfelt goodbye.

And we hope that, with your support, we can ease even a small part of the emotional and financial burden her family now carries in the face of this sudden and devastating loss.

Yuki had been very looking forward to attending her Coming-of-Age Ceremony next January and wearing a Furisode (Kimono for youth) for the occasion. But this accident took her from us, and with her, the irreplaceable time she would have spent laughing together with her family of four.

The day of the accident was, in Japan time, her sister's birthday — Yuki was on her way home after buying her a birthday present when she was hit. Her family's deepest wish now is simply to have Yuki come home.

This fundraiser is being organized to help bring Yuki home to Japan, hold an appropriate funeral to say good bye, and support Yuki’s family as they face the emotional and practical burdens of this devastating loss. Repatriation after a death in a foreign country is incredibly complicated and costly, and the family is doing their best during an unimaginable time of grief.

結希さんを日本へ帰すために、

奥村結希(ゆき)さんは、武蔵大学に在学中で、ロサンゼルスでの短期インターンシップのために渡米しました。

国際線の客室乗務員になることを夢見て英語を学んでおり、

今回のインターンシップはその夢に向けた大切な一歩でした。

K -POPをこよなく愛し、努力家であった結希さんは、希望と決意を胸に

ロサンゼルスへとやって来ました。

しかし8月16日、結希さんはバスにはねられるという痛ましい事故に遭い、重度の外傷を負ってロサンゼルス総合病院(LA General Medical Center)に緊急搬送されました。

結希さんは複数回の手術を受け、懸命に生きようと戦い続けましたが、

その後、深部静脈血栓症が脳へと到達し、脳梗塞を発症しました。

緊急手術を受けたものの、残念ながら結希さんは

現地時間の2026年9月9日18時33分に息を引き取りました。

この募金活動は、結希さんを母国日本へとお連れし、結希さんがこれまで慣れ親しんできた大切な場所で、最後のお別れの時間を過ごせる様に。

そしてこの計り知れない喪失に直面するご家族の精神的・経済的な負担を支えるために立ち上げられました。

海外で亡くなった方のご遺体を母国へ搬送する手続きは非常に複雑かつ

高額であり、ご家族は深い悲しみの中で懸命に対応しておられます。

結希さんは来年の1月に行われる成人式に着物を着ることをとても楽しみにしていました。しかし、この事故で帰らぬ人となってしまい、家族４人で笑いあうかけがえのない時間までもが失われてしまいました。

事故が起きた日は、日本時間で結希さんのお姉さんの誕生日にあたる日でした。

結希さんはお姉さんへのプレゼントを買い、その帰り道で事故に遭ったのです。

ご家族は今、結希さんが一日も早く家に帰ってきてくれることを、切に願っています。

結希さんは海外旅行者保険にも加入しており、現在、海外旅行保険や事故に関する手続きなど、利用できる制度や補償についても確認・対応が進められています。しかし、これらの手続きには時間を要するものもあり、すべての費用が直ちに補償されるとは限りません。
