Help Bring Native American Wilfred Lee Sr. Home to His Tribal Lands
Dear friends, family, and kind supporters,
Wilfred Ben Lee Sr. was born on August 15, 1929, and would have celebrated his 96th birthday next month.
On Monday, July 21, 2025, my dad was rushed to the ER from his care center due to an irregular heart rate. He was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, and his lungs were filling with fluid. There was nothing more the doctors could do but keep him comfortable. He passed away peacefully the following night with me and my daughters.
For the past three years, my dad lived in Rangely, Colorado, to receive healthcare and to be close to me and my family. His final wish was to be laid to rest on our family land beside his wife and two sons. He loved his cotton tree outside his house. Those that knew or visited him would always find him sitting underneath the shade it provided. We know he missed his home with his whole heart and that is why I want to be able to honor his final wish.
Unfortunately, we are struggling to cover the rising cost of getting him home. Due to being denied by mortuaries in Grand Junction, Colorado, his body has been transported to Vernal, Utah. The transportation costs have now risen to $2,435.00.
We are humbly asking for help—specifically to cover these transportation costs so we can fulfill his final wish and bring him back to his homelands.
Wilfred is survived by four children and eleven grandchildren. Your support—whether through donation or simply sharing this—means the world to our family. Thank you for your kindness during this difficult time.
