Bring Wayne home where he belongs

Hi, my name is Teresa, Wayne is my dad! On October 13th my dad suffered from 2 strokes that left him paralyzed on his right side, trouble speaking, swallowing and immobile, compounding the already chronic back issues, pain and arthritis, this has left him as full care at this time. After a week and a half in SCU he was transitioned to a SNF rehab where he was supposed to have help working on skills to bring him home asap. After 3 weeks in this facility he has made zero progress and is actually due to depression and lack of care is loosing ground!

My dad has been an active member of the St. George community for his entire life. He has an extremely generous heart and has helped a lot of people and touched many hearts in this town. He was recognized 12 years ago for his dedication to his town and its residence at a get together at the St. George grange where many attended! I am reaching out to those who have been touched by my dad's generosity and big kind heart to help me bring him home where he wants to be and belongs!

Right now Maine Healthcare at home is so busy and with short staffing is unable to take any new clients, they are at max and can not help us. So to get in home PT/OT, speech and nursing services is not an option at this time so with the help of family and friends we need to do this with him ourselves. We need a few things to help us be able to give him the care he needs so that we can work on his therapy at home.

I am working on locating a medical bed, wheelchair and other equipment through some local agencies but what we need help with is a chair that can help him transfer from sitting to standing position, and the transportation(ambulance) cost to get him home. Anyone that knows my dad knows he is a gentle giant! With that said the 4 position recliner we are looking for help to purchase is XL and made for individuals over 6 ft tall. The chair costs $1,400.00. I am asking for help to pay for this chair, the shipping cost to get it to us and the fundraising fees.

I know everyone is maxed out right now financially, but I ask if you are able to help my mom and I with any contribution we would so appreciate it. All monies raised will go directly to getting equipment needed to bring him home where everything is familiar and he can be encouraged and helped by his family and amazing friends to get him back on his feet!
