Hello, my name is Margie Williams, and I am reaching out on behalf of my BFF/ sister, Vickie Sawyer Prezelin. Our family is facing difficult and emotional time, and we are asking for help to bring Vickie back to Tennessee so she can receive hospice care surrounded by loved ones.
While Vickie was visiting friends, she started having severe pain and her Gall Bladder was removed, but did not resolve her pain. She was seen in the Emergency room with scans that showed advanced stage 4 cancer. During this time it also showed a dead bowel that had to be removed along with the removal of a tumor and an ovary. After surgery she started bleeding they took her back to surgery to stop the bleeding. She proceeded to sepsis and remained intubated and ended up on dialysis. The doctors wanted to place her on Hospice, I did not agree with them. I wanted her to have the chance to fight the sepsis and worry about the cancer after. We they took the breathing tube out so she could state her wishes, she started to breathe and talk surprisingly well. She improved rapidly and that is giving us a chance to get her home. We know that Chemo will not save her but we wanted the possibility of her to get things in order and spend time with family.
Right now, Vickie is in Santa Barbara, CA in SB Cottage Hospital, we urgently need to arrange transportation back home. The cost of travel, medical transport and the arrangements needed for safe transfer of care is more than we can manage and setting up transfer of care and insurance.
We want to make sure Vickie can spend her time in comfort, peace, and close to the people who love her most.
Your support will go directly toward:
Medical cost
Travel arrangements
Hospice setup and related expenses
Any immediate needs during this transition
Any amount helps, and even sharing this page makes a difference. We are deeply grateful for your kindness, prayers, and generosity during this difficult time.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
