On August 4,2024 my family and I were awakened by a crackling sound followed by a loud thud. As we all got up to see what it was, we quickly realized the over 40 year old pine tree had fallen on my childhood home. All I could do was sit down and cry. Blessed that everyone was ok, and no one was hurt. However, there is significant damage to the roof and kitchen. Not to mention, the Lexington Fire department has condemned it until I get it fixed. Which means we can not go home. As well as, the Lexington code enforcement has cited me and fines will soon begin to incur and the season is changing.
Unfortunately, I did not have homeowners insurance to cover fixing the roof due to deed issues that have since been resolved. Moving forward, in order for me to get homeowners insurance the house must be in good condition, which it obviously is not.
If you know me you know I am a very proud woman to my on demise sometimes and I don't like to ask for help. I am also a woman that will "figure it out". Well, friends, this time I can't! I am swallowing my pride and asking for help so that my family and I can go home.
I hope that you can find it in your heart to help in any capacity. I will be forever grateful.
Thank you.
