- My name is James Civis, but I go by TJ in November 2023 I suffered a stroke that ended my life as I knew it prior to the stroke. I was strong and vibrant a strong contributor to my community fact I have the nickname the mayor of Brooklyn for the Brooklyn neighborhood of Portland, Oregon, neighborhood in Portland, Oregon, I volunteered thousands of hours of my time to good causes. This stroke left me unable to walk and unable to use my left arm at all no longer able to work my entire life and my business fell apart. I had been a contractor remodeling apartments, and doing design work on the apartments that I was remodeling I had several very good clients and was , making a good living and hiring people and teaching them. My company was a teaching company, teaching young men and women how to make a living for the rest of their lives now I’m stuck unable to do anything to pay my own bills or get some of the medical equipment that I need Medicaid is taken any funds that I have away from me , you’re not allowed to have assets so now now is the result of that I can’t afford anything that I need and that’s why I’m trying to raise some money. It’s like I feel that my good deeds despite never asking for a monetary return for any of it in the past nor anypersomal gloryon behalf ofother people and my coty and neighborhood such as teaching other people how to make a living for the rest of their lives, deserves a little bit of consideration, on My birthday, May 25 I fell and broke my hip and after surgery to repair it, I was placed in a skilled nursing facility and I’ve been there ever since I can’t go home until certain improvements are made such as ramps and some some rails and I also need to be able to pay for school care at home as well and Medicaid only provides 45 hours worth of week and we all know there’s more than 45 hours in a week. I need someone to be there at all times overnight and I would have to pay for that birthday and broke my hip and that put mein askilled nursing facility which I’m trying to get out of now, but I can’t get home until I have certain things done via Medicaid and Medicaid is dragging their feet moving at the speed of government I just want to getback home and have enough care once I get there to take care of me and the care is expensive and Medicaid will only allocate for 45 hours a week and as we all know there’s more than 45 hours in a week I do have committed Caregiver who has been an angel to me, but you know she she needs to be paid as well and Medicaid won’t pay for her Basically trying to raise money to pay her and to make the improvements on my home that I need in order to be able to move back in there’s not that much that needs to be done but I need certain things to be able to justify being able to go home Medicaid won’t let me go home unless I have what I need at home to done yheresucessfullyim devastated by missing my sweet kitty who is the most amazing cat I’ve ever seen anywhere and I haven’t been able to see her now for three months while I’ve been here to help me is gonna be greatly appreciated. I was also a very successful artist photographer prior to this happening to me and I would be happy to , share some of my artwork with anybody who is interested?
