Bring Tim Crowder Home

My name is Ty Crowder. My dad, Timothy Michael Crowder, has been trapped in Oman for nearly two years. He is lying in a hospital bed at Khoula Hospital in Muscat, 7,000 miles from home. He cannot walk. He can barely speak. Part of his skull and a portion of his brain were removed during emergency surgery after a massive stroke. He has been in that bed ever since.

We are $10,000 away from bringing him home.

How we got here

My dad spent years working in Oman as a data and information management professional. When COVID hit in 2020, his contract ended. A rental dispute he was never properly notified about became a civil case, and a travel ban was placed on his passport. Then came the stroke.

He has been bed-bound ever since, alone in a foreign country, far from his family.

Where things stand now

Over the last several months I have been working alongside the US Embassy in Oman, local contacts, and the medical team at Khoula Hospital. I am deeply grateful to the US Ambassador to Oman for personally negotiating a significant reduction in my dad's debts, which was the key to getting his travel ban lifted.

We are secured the logistics. We have a path home. We are coordinating with a travel nurse and escort to safely transport a man recovering from major brain surgery across the world.

We just need to fund the final leg.

What we still need

We have raised the majority of what this journey has required. The remaining $10,000 is the last thing standing between my dad and home.

That is it. $10,000. Then he is on a plane.

He has endured more than I have words for. Two years in a hospital bed. Alone. Far from everyone who loves him. He deserves to come home, and we are so close.
