On August 22, I lost my shop in the Hawk fire. I run a small taxidermy business out of that building, and losing it has been devastating for my family and me. What many people may not realize is that this shop was more than just a workspace. It has been on our family property since 1983 and has gone through many chapters over the years. It started as a simple pole barn for horses, then became a hobby shop for my father-in-law, and later became my shop. Over time, it grew into a second household income where I clean skulls for European mounts and provide taxidermy services for people in the surrounding communities.

This work is something I truly care about, and I take a lot of pride in providing top-tier quality to every client I serve. Right now, I am hoping to rebuild the shop so I can get back to work and continue serving the local Reno-area community. I do have insurance, but the reimbursement for an outbuilding on the property is nowhere near enough to cover the cost of rebuilding. Any support, no matter the size, would mean so much to me and my family.
