Edmée is a 28 year old woman born and raised in Nice, France. Coming from a family of climbers and hikers, nature has always been at the center of her life. She began trekking at a young age and has since worked on farms, picking onions, taking care of donkeys and has even travelled with a camel. Today she is in the Valais region of Switzerland where she walks with her two horses. This is where we meet her.
Edmée is a modern day nomad. Her entire life has urged her towards this ‘unconventional’ lifestyle. Although it may seem a bold choice, for Edmée there is no other way to live.
A traumatic past led to a lack of trust in society which burdened her for many years. What could have killed her helped her find her true love; animals. By building strong bonds with animals she was able restore her faith in humanity.
Throughout the film we travel alongside Edmée and her horses. Her story teaches us about alternative ways of living, what it means to build relationships with animals and nature, and what we can learn from people we share life’s journey with.
