Bring the Wild Rumpus Circus to MYArts

Hello, I'm Heather and I'm a longtime fan and supporter of the Wild Rumpus Circus and mother to circus performer Lex. For the first time since 2020, this spring WRC is putting on a live indoor show, and it will be in the beautiful new Madison Youth Arts Center! The 300-seat theater space at MYArts is versatile and well-equipped. It's going to be fun to see what creative visions are unleashed as the group gets to play in a real theater!

 

This bold move is a big financial, logistical, and time commitment for WRC. In addition to higher rental costs, the show will require more specialized labor in order to make full use of the lighting and sound capabilities of the space. Mars & Jacob have committed to taking on these new costs without raising fees for performers. They also wish to raise scholarship funds for future WRC camps and classes. And of course they need to keep their business financially healthy so that they can continue to bring circus arts to our community.

 

There are 2 key ways to help WRC make this happen:

 

1) Contribute to this Go Fund Me campaign! The overall goal is to raise $5000 to cover theater costs, stage labor, marketing, and other show-related expenses. $1500 has already been pledged, so that leaves $3500 to go. Donations of any size move us towards the goal. For those of you who have the interest and the means to contribute--or know people who can--participating in and sharing this campaign is a much-appreciated way to help.

 

Let's raise $3500 by March 1 so Mars & Jacob can make production decisions confidently.

 

2) Help fill the house! The seating capacity of the MYArts theater is significantly more than could be seated at the Goodman Center. Let's work together to make sure that we have large audiences for every show! A full house always lends more energy and excitement to a performance, and the ticket revenue helps ensure that there's future scholarship money available.

 

The ultimate goal here is to give performers and audiences alike a stellar experience. There is something magical that happens in a theater that isn't quite possible anywhere else. I'm so excited that my child will be able to experience the discipline and thrill that comes from creating work on a fully equipped stage.
