The Storage Closet is a new play by emerging playwright Emma Jean Eastlund, whose background in theatre, dance, GoGo performance, and production shaped the heart of this story. What began as personal reflection has grown into a powerful theatrical work that pulls back the curtain on the hidden world of modern-day Chicago GoGo dancers.

The journey to this production has already been one of collaboration and discovery. The script has been nurtured through two workshopped readings in Chicago, where actors, directors, and audiences came together to shape and strengthen the piece. Each step has revealed how deeply this story resonates—with its humor, grit, and honesty about women whose voices are too often overlooked.

This September, (Sat Sep 20th @8pm & Sat Sep 27th @8pm) The Storage Closet will premiere at Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble’s Full Circle Festival. To fully realize the production, we are raising funds to support costumes, set design, rehearsal space, and artist stipends. Every contribution goes directly toward a cast and creative team dedicated to bringing this story to life.
