Bring the Soul Home: A Fundraiser for In His Time

Hi, I’m Divyanshu.

I’m originally from Punjab, India — and honestly, growing up, I never imagined I’d be the kind of person telling stories on stage. But here I am, because somewhere along the way, I fell in love with the joy of being vulnerable, of playing, of watching life closely and turning it into something we can all share.

Back in 2022, in Chandigarh, I met someone who completely changed how I see the world.

He was homeless — but more than that, he was free. When I offered him food, he wasn’t angry, he wasn’t bitter, he wasn’t even interested.

He had lost everything through betrayal, yet what he carried was unshakable: his mind, his heart, his soul.

To me, he was the real clown — not because he made people laugh, but because he lived like the whole world was a stage.

That meeting planted the seed for In His Time, a play I’m now bringing to the 2025 Toronto Fringe Festival.

It’s a show that blends memory, myth, and silence.

It’s about a gambler turned sage. A narrator. A wandering Soul. And an Enforcer who arrives to set things free.

Right now, we’re raising funds to make this happen — to cover rehearsal space, costumes, props, pay for our incredible performers, and to make sure this story reaches the audience it’s meant for.
