Howdy!
I'm Caleb, a full-time student at UC Davis, studying to get one of those degree thingies in biochemistry. I have played the saxophone since I was a kid. Today, I keep it going strong by writing, performing, practicing and jamming.
My sax and I have been going steady for a decade. I started learning jazz with this horn back in high school.
This week, my baby got crunched and rendered completely unplayable.
The hinge on my car's trunk came down when we were packing up after band practice, and smashed down the saxophone's body. Ouch. It hurts to write that; never use a gig bag, folks, even if it worked for 8 years without incident.
I ask you, friends and family, for your help.
Please help me afford a saxophone, so that the burden of its cost is manageable. With your help, I can get back to playing again.
The cost includes a hard case, to protect my horn even more.
I promise, to each person that donates to the cause:
I will learn a song of your choosing, to be performed and recorded (on the sexy, sexy sax that you helped me buy) and sent to you!
Best wishes.
Please help me make music again!
-Caleb

A saxophone is...
A tool to feed myself and buy necessities, as my student debt looms over my head, and steadily grows in size.
The means to create art, to speak the language of musicians, and to make something intangible that impacts the community in positive ways.
