Environmental awareness at the Heart of Culture – Music EP

For much of my adult and creative life, I have been dedicated to understanding the challenges of my country—economic instability, climate change, and a culture of exploitation. Growing up in an agrarian family in Minas Gerais, I witnessed firsthand the impact of monoculture, mineral extraction, and recent climate disasters. These experiences inspired me to create an EP that calls people to listen deeply to nature and rekindle a love for the environment.

This EP is an important release because its message is both deeply environmental and universal. It begins from my place of origin—from Brazil, its cultural memory, its musical traditions, and its extraordinary natural richness—but it speaks to questions that belong to all of us. Brazil is one of the greatest centers of biodiversity on Earth. Its biomes hold immense ecological and cultural wealth, and also a profound potential for transformation in culture, environment, and the economic foundations that shape the future.

We are living in a time of transition. The extractive economic models that have shaped so much of our world are revealing their limits and their consequences. It is becoming increasingly urgent to inspire others to action and to protect natural resources, preserve ecosystems, and imagine new ways of living rooted in regeneration, care, belonging, and interdependence. Through these songs, I want to inspire a generation where ecology is at the center of culture, bringing awareness to the importance of Brazil’s biomes and ecosystems and to the living intelligence of forests and oceans supporting the well-being of the planet—we are one. I want to continue a musical lineage that carries not only beauty and celebration, but also consciousness, reflection, and responsibility. These songs are born from Brazil, but they are a message to the world to preserve what is still left.

This project is my response to that call. I am inviting friends, community, and supporters to help me bring a new Brazilian music EP into the world—a project rooted in Brazilian Popular Music (MPB), environmental awareness, and reverence for life. The EP is fully human made, supporting musicians and professionals who work in culture. It features three songs, each weaving together Brazilian musical heritage, storytelling, and themes of nature, community, and reverence for the living world.

The first song is a classic of Brazilian popular music, reimagined with a new arrangement that opens the path and introduces the spirit of the EP. The second is a new interpretation of a song previously released by its composer, for which I am creating a new arrangement and interpretation. This piece evokes the enchantments of the ocean and brings a feeling of collective celebration in honor of the Queen of Life, calling us into beauty, devotion, and community. The third is my unreleased original composition, “Reino da Floresta,” inspired by the samba-enredo tradition—the narrative style of Brazilian samba schools that tells a story through music. This song speaks about the process of the regeneration of the forest until its full maturity and the essential role forests play in the sustainability of the planet and in human life: “Open the way for the enchanted queens, the ancestral mothers of our forest and the pioneers of the garden. They are the sovereign ones, sheltering animals, raising dwellings, and they give my country its name: Pau-Brasil.”

Your support will help make this project possible by funding studio recording, mixing and mastering, musicians, producer and arranger fees, travel and stay in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, author and publishing rights, and video production. Through this EP, I want to honor Brazilian musical lineage while also speaking to the urgent realities of the present—realities that affect not only Brazil or the Americas, but the whole planet. I am deeply grateful for any support you can offer to help bring this vision to life.
