Bring the boys to Bogota:
Hello! My name is Ella, and I’m reaching out to you in my time of need. I’m preparing to move to Bogotá, Colombia, and it’s so important to me that my two beloved cats, Ronnie and Reggie, join me in this new chapter of our lives. I have always found it difficult to ask for help, but I have realized that there are some things that I can't do on my own. This is why I come here now to ask for your help.

Our Story:
Ronnie and Reggie's names were inspired by my time in London and in memory of Reg, my grandmother's partner until his passing. Reg used to regale us with tales of living in Mile End during our childhood visits to Nanny's house for Sunday lunch, Christmas, and birthdays. He always sat at the end of the table, sharing stories of growing up in East London during the 40s and 50s. He lived there during the same era as the notorious East London gangsters Ronnie and Reggie Kray. Later on, I spent time living in East London, walking the same streets he once did.
When I rescued the boys, the name given to Reggie was Mogrim, which means "criminal" in Arabic. It hadn't been long since we lost our Reg to cancer. So, in his honor, I named the boys after him and the Krays. This way, I can always share the story of him and keep his memory alive through that story.
For the past two and a half years, Ronnie and Reggie have been my constant companions, bringing joy, comfort, and unconditional love into my life. I rescued them as kittens in Egypt, and since then, they’ve become my best friends. Every day, they greet me with meows, cuddle with me when I’m sad, and fill my home with warmth and love. They are my family, and the thought of leaving them behind is a nightmare.
Now, I'm embarking on a life-changing journey from Cairo to Bogotá for a dream opportunity I've eagerly awaited. This move represents a pivotal moment, promising growth and new horizons. However, it's not without its challenges, particularly in ensuring Ronnie and Reggie can make this journey with me.
The urgency of this move adds pressure, with only 5 weeks to prepare Ronnie and Reggie for the transition. As a single person, raising the necessary funds in such a short time is a unique challenge. I would be beyond grateful for any form of support, whether it be great or small. Your help means everything to us in making this journey possible.
Moving internationally with pets involves considerable expenses. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the costs we’re facing to bring Ronnie and Reggie to Bogotá:
Airfare for two cats (Ronnie and Reggie): $1951 per cat x 2 cats = $3902
Customs and logistics fees: $342
Agent fees: $100
Total cost for the move: $3902 (airfare) + $342 (customs/logistics) + $100 (agent fees) = $4344
This total cost is beyond what I can manage alone during this transition, which is why I am reaching out for support. Your help will make a world of difference in ensuring Ronnie and Reggie can make this journey with me to our new home in Bogotá. Every contribution, no matter how small, will bring us closer to being reunited and starting our new adventure together.
How You Can Help:
I am reaching out to friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers for support in raising the necessary funds to ensure Ron and Reg can come with me to Bogotá. Any contribution, no matter how small, will bring us one step closer to being reunited in our new home. Your generosity will help cover the costs of their safe travel and ensure they continue to receive the love and care they deserve, while staying with their favorite human.
For those who know me, I recently celebrated my 30th birthday. You might consider your donation as a birthday gift if you wish.
Conclusion:
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read our story. Your support means everything to us. Whether you can donate or simply share our campaign with others, every bit of help is deeply appreciated. With your help, Ron, Reg, and I can start our new adventure in Bogotá together.
Final Note:
Thank you once again for your kindness and support. We look forward to updating you on our journey and sharing our new life in Bogotá with all of you. Anyone who is able to help in any way will always have a place to stay in Bogotá and a free tour guide in me.
