Bring The Biscayne Poet's Classic Car Back to Life.

Hello everyone!! My name is Oscar Fuentes, locally known in Miami as The Biscayne Poet. I’m raising funds to restore my 1974 Dodge Dart, which has been an essential part of my life for close to seventeen years, both personally and creatively.

This car isn’t just a vehicle—For close to ten years it was my main transportation, providing reliable service day in and day out. Some of my most cherished memories involve driving my son to school in this car, and it has been with me through so many moments, moments of my life that have ended up in some of my creative writing.

Beyond its personal significance, the car is now synonymous with my work as ’The Biscayne Poet.’ It has served as a character and a prop in my poetry and short stories, driving my creative projects and helping me bring my art to life. Restoring it will not only preserve these memories but also allow me to continue using it in future projects as a central piece of my storytelling and branding.

The restoration work needed includes:

• Eliminating rusted areas in the floor of the passenger seat, around the front shield glass, and the back window shield.

• Installing new weatherproofing for all four doors.

• Repairing or replacing the door locking mechanisms.

• Rewiring the entire electrical system.

• Replacing the interior upholstery, floor, and ceiling.

• Applying a fresh coat of paint after all repairs are completed.
