Hello, I am Yuliya Linhares, lymphoma, stem cell transplant and immunotherapy physician at Miami Cancer Institute. My wonderful patient D. underwent a stem cell transplant for the treatment of her relapsed lymphoma. Very unfortunately, she experienced life-threatening transplant complication- graft-versus-host disease. She has been hospitalized for over 3 months to receive intensive life-saving therapy. She getting better slowly, but, unfortunately, discharge home is nowhere near. The patient and her family have no income source and their housing is constantly threatened. Patients' teenage children don't have resources for a transportation to visit their mom on Thanksgiving. I am fundraising to help my patient survive these extraordinary times not only physically but also financially. Seeing her children on Thanksgiving would give her a huge mental boost!!
