Our good friend Caliph Mindalano Jr. is a beloved teacher and mentor at Pasay City Academy, a Christian school in Manila, Philippines. He is the loving husband of Len and the doting father of three amazing beautiful young girls, Aimee, Kyah, and Cass.
It is sad to say that he has contracted CoVid-19 about three weeks ago and is not doing well. Caliph was admitted at the Manila Adventist Medical Center on September 26, 2020 and he quickly went on a downward spiral, currently intubated and fighting for his life.
This fundraiser is to help our friend Caliph and his family pay for his mounting hospital bills. Caliph does not have any health insurance coverage and his medical bill to date is close to $1.5m pesos ($30,000) and is increasing by the day. Caliph has received Convalescent Plasma Therapy and is needing a few rounds of Hemofiltration which will cost approximately $800 each.
Through the years we have communicated, we talked about the importance of a Christian education to a child’s life. Pasay City Academy was on the brink of closing down when he was asked to serve as the school principal. He may not have turned the school around financially during his term but, we are proud to say that he has accomplished something more valuable than that.
Caliph was able to bring joy and hope into the student’s life that shows in their glowing faces. You can feel the energy that he has brought back to the academy in the pictures that he shared. A student might be initially intimidated but warms up to him once they experience firsthand the loving guidance that he generously gives.
Caliph is not a rich person but through the years, we have personally witnessed how he has reached for help from others to prevent students from being dropped from enrollment due to financial struggles and has helped families in communities that have been devastated by natural disasters such as typhoons and fire by spearheading relief efforts.
Caliph always assured people who asks for his help not to worry, because he believes in the kindness of humanity. Today on his behalf, we are reaching out to your kind hearts and generous spirit to help bring Caliph’s health back that he may continue to be a blessing to the lives of others.
Any amount will be appreciated and for those who are unable give help at this time, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers and share this post to as many individuals as you can.
God bless us all.
