Bring Tanner Home to Rachel and Emma

Hi, my name is Linda Fiske, and Rachel Barber is my daughter. As many of you know, my son-in-law, Tanner Barber, was accused in 2017 of crimes he did not commit. In 2018, he was charged, convicted, and sent to prison. Last year (2023), Tanner was released from prison after serving 5 years, again, for a crime he did not commit, and has yet to be allowed to come home to my daughter, Rachel, and my granddaughter, Emma. He has done everything that he has been told to do upon release and continues to follow all the rules, yet the WA Dept of Corrections is continuing to keep him from returning home to his family. Emma talks to her daddy daily but has not been allowed to see him in person for over a year. She is now 6 years old, and she does not understand why he can't be with her and mommy.

In the last few weeks, we have come upon some new evidence that is highly favorable for Tanner's case. Some of the evidence was there all along but was never allowed as evidence in the 2018 trial. Through a close family member and their connection of friends, we were referred to an attorney. We reached out to him, he looked over Tanner's entire case file, saw the evidence we have, and said that this was a legitimate motion to file for dismissal of Tanner's case.

As most of you are aware, hiring an attorney is an expensive endeavor, and there are never any guarantees of the outcome, but we are holding fast to our trust and faith in our Heavenly Father as we know that He has protected Tanner, Rachel, and Emma, as well as protecting their relationships as husband and wife, and as a family with their daughter.

We appreciate all of our family and friends (even those of you that have yet to meet Tanner) that stayed alongside Tanner and Rachel, believing in Tanner's innocence, and continually holding them up in prayer.

I am setting up this GoFundMe for Tanner's defense in light of this new evidence, and am asking all of you to, prayerfully, consider donating to the legal expenses for Tanner. We greatly appreciate all of you, and also ask that you pray in agreement with us for wisdom for the attorney, that God will keep His Hands on this motion to file and allow it to be safely delivered into the hands that it needs to be, and that a court date will be scheduled within the next few weeks.
