What sets us apart isn’t as powerful as what binds us together.
TALEGUNNER follows PScott, a filmmaker with a seemingly perfect life: living in Venice, making movies, and a professor of film at a major university. But when one of his students confides that she is a victim of abuse from her coach, he finds himself drawn into a shocking abuse scandal that involves elite institutions, shady intelligence agents, and a mysterious connection to his own haunted past.
Told through a hybrid of animation and documentary footage, TALEGUNNER uses stunning visuals and disarming humor to expose how institutions protect the perpetrators — and how individuals are forced to choose between complicity or resistance for their own survival.
Why animation? To protect the people who bravely shared their stories, reveal the officials who abused their authority, and harness the power of film to fight back.
After nearly seven years of animation and production, UCLA graciously hosted a test screening in December of last year. The screening went great, and I now have representation at M88 and offers from distributors. Now we are asking for your help to get us across the finish line by raising the funds to get this film seen. The funds will be used for the final sound mix, color and overhead that will keep this project independent.
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps move the story forward. Every share extends its reach to those who believe in truth, accountability, and the power of storytelling to challenge injustice.
Thank you for believing in me and this film — it means the world to me. Everyone who donates will get private access to the first chapter of the film.
