I am Susan Tine. My husband and I are 63 years old, and we are currently out of my house due to Helene. We live in Tryon, NC in the valley. The small river behind my house turned into a raging sea. We built the house in 1999 and have never had it flood much less reach my house 85ft away, fill the 6ft high crawlspace below and still come up into the house. Thankfully the outer structure and most interior walls are still sound, but unfortunately all the electric and HVAC under the house is ruined, as well as, my furniture and flooring, sheetrock, appliances gone. I had no flood insurance so we are on our own.The cost of replacing the HVAC, the electric and some plumbing is 65,000 per the estimates. If we can get the utilities back in we can at least get some living space set up and complete the rest while we are home. I am currently doing treatments for bladder cancer and prefer to be back in my house before things ever go sideways with that. Any help would be appreciated.
