Bring Sucked to Life: Help Fund Our Film

Sucked has begun filming! However, we still need your help to finish covering some production costs, and with your continued support we can continue to make this story a reality.

Sucked is a BFA Thesis film by Ethan Roth and Griffin Storick. The film is about Jacob, a college student who inexplicably begins sinking through the wall of his classroom. Once the school discovers Jacob’s situation, Dean Lampkin devises a plan to profit off of Jacob while ignoring his pleas for help. Eventually completely abandoned by the school, Jacob finds himself slipping through the wall and emerges in the middle of a Mahjong parlor in China, where he meets three young men. The four of them eventually form a bond as they try to resolve Jacob’s situation. As the school discovers that Jacob has begun to slip out of their control, they scramble to pull him back through, forcing Jacob to make a sacrifice in order to remain with his newfound community.

At Emerson College, students have the opportunity to apply for a BFA, which allows those students to leave Emerson College with a capstone media project created over one year. The BFA program is a highly competitive application-based program where students submit a screenplay, and only a select few are chosen.

Director/Co-Writer Ethan Roth is a senior VMA student at Emerson College specializing in writing and directing. Director of Photography/Co-Writer Griffin Storick is also a senior VMA student at Emerson College, specializing in cinematography.

Co-producers Olivia Altiok and Grace Atkin are both recent transfer students at Emerson College as VMA majors.

Our cast and crew are mostly Emerson students and students from around the Boston area. They have been working endlessly to help create this world and to keep production running smoothly.
