Aloha everyone,

I never imagined I would be creating a GoFundMe, but my dog Sonny, who is 8 years old, is currently in critical condition and fighting for his life.

Over the past few weeks, Sonny had intermittent gagging and discomfort that suddenly turned into a medical emergency. Today, his oxygen levels dropped to 70%, and imaging revealed that one of his lungs is severely compromised. He is now hospitalized in the ICU, on oxygen support, and awaiting a CT scan to determine whether he has a diaphragmatic hernia or lung lobe torsion — both life-threatening conditions that require emergency surgery.

Beyond the medical details, I want people to know who Sonny is.

Sonny is my best friend in every sense of the word. He is the most loving, gentle soul — the kind of dog who brings joy everywhere he goes and shows love to everyone he meets. If you’ve ever met Sonny, you know how special he is and how deeply he is loved. My life revolves around caring for him, protecting him, and giving him the happiest life possible.

Right now, the veterinary team is doing everything they can to stabilize Sonny so he can safely undergo imaging and surgery. The cost of ICU care, advanced diagnostics, anesthesia, and surgery is overwhelming and far beyond what I ever expected. I am doing everything I can, but I can’t do this alone.

I am fighting for Sonny with everything I have.
