Help Shelly Fight AML & Bring Our Family to Houston
Life can change in the blink of an eye.
A few weeks ago, my mom Shelly stepped on a rock while walking the dog. Her ankle swelled. She went to urgent care. They found a blood clot. And then, after more testing and a bone marrow biopsy, we heard the words no family is ever ready to hear.
Leukemia.
Shelly has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) with biallelic TP53 mutation and complex karyotype, a fast-moving, aggressive blood cancer. Her genetic profile places her in the highest-risk category, and her doctors have confirmed that she needs access to the most advanced treatment available. We are working to get her to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, the #1 ranked cancer center in the country, where she can access specialized leukemia care and hopefully clinical trials designed for exactly her diagnosis.
She is 60 years old. She was in perfect health before this. She is fierce, she is faith-filled, and she is not done.
But getting her the care she needs, and keeping our family together through this fight, is going to take more than love alone.

WHY THIS IS BIGGER THAN ONE PERSON
Our family is not just navigating a cancer diagnosis. We are navigating the logistics of uprooting our lives to be by Shelly's side.
My brother Sean has Cerebral Palsy. He needs consistent care, support, and his family close. Moving him to Houston so he can be near Mom, and so our family can stay together during one of the hardest seasons of our lives, comes with its own set of needs and costs.
We are a family that has always shown up for each other. Right now, showing up means getting everyone to Houston.

WHAT WE NEED HELP WITH
We've setup an account so that every dollar raised goes directly toward:
► Mom's medical treatment, medications, and out-of-pocket costs not covered by insurance
► Travel to Houston for my Mom
► Sean's care, travel, and support needs during the transition
This is not a small ask. We know that. We are a family that has spent our whole lives giving to others, and we are learning, humbly, how to let others give to us.

WHO SHELLY IS
Shelly is a mother, a grandmother, a businesswoman, and the kind of person who shows up for everyone around her without ever asking for anything in return. She is part of a family business built on love and her name is woven into everything we have built together.
She did not ask for this fight. But she is in it. And so are we.

IF YOU CAN HELP
A donation of any size — $10, $25, $50, $100 — brings us closer to getting Shelly the care she needs and keeping our family whole through this.
If you cannot give financially, please share this page. Every share puts it in front of someone who might be able to help. That costs nothing and means everything.
And if all you have to offer is a prayer — we will take it! We feel every single one.
We are not losing hope. We are choosing faith over fear, one day at a time.
And now we fight.
