Hello!

My name is Sophia Terranova, and I am a current senior at James Madison University. This Spring, I will be completing my capstone film, and I need your help raising funds for locations, equipment, and distribution!

As a token of our gratitude, any donation at or over $100 will receive a Producer Title on our closing credits, as well as a signed poster from our cast and crew.

While at JMU, I have worked as a production assistant on feature films, corporate shoots, and advertisements. I have also written and directed three short films, as well as produced Apocalypse, Right Now!, a thrilling anthology focusing on a zombie apocalypse.

The Story - "Shadows"

My short film, "Shadows," is a nostalgic thriller about three teenage boys who break into the Shenandoah Caverns. After a run-in with a dark creature, Bobby, Johnny, and his brother Abe have to work together to survive.

"Shadows" is reminiscent of films like The Goonies, Lost Boys, and The Descent. Using suspense and humor, this film tells the story of family, brotherhood, feeling alone, and coming of age.

Locations and Effects

Key to this short film will be acquiring a filming location in one of the many caverns situated in the Shenandoah Valley. Playing with minimal lighting and the eerie beauty of North American caverns, we hope to create a unique, distinct look for our short film.

Filming on-location and working with prosthetics and effects will be vital for this production, and we need your help to create the best film possible!
