I’m asking for your help supporting my dear friend Ira and her family during an incredibly difficult and unjust situation. Her partner, Sasha, was unlawfully detained by ICE while working in Indiana and is now being held there—separated from Ira and their young daughter, Alisa, who are home in Chicago.

Sasha came to the U.S. over ten years ago and has built a life rooted in hard work and now his chosen family. He runs his own trucking business, has no criminal record, and has shown up to every required asylum hearing. He is a loving, devoted father to Alisa—the only father she has ever known.

Right now, their family is facing the emotional and financial strain of this sudden separation. We are working to secure strong legal representation for Sasha so he can return home to his family.
